Bathtub Refinishing

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have pets in the home. Will this affect them?

We recommend all pets be moved outside for the actual "spraying" part of the job, or the final hbour of our visit. Although not harmful, it can make cats and dogs a little lethargic and they could lose their appetite for remainder of day. Since 2011, we have never had an incident where a homeowners pet got sick!

  • I am pregnant or have newborn/infants in the home. Is it safe?

No! We never recommend a pregnant woman or new baby be in the home during or until 24 hours after a tub has been refinished. We have never had an issue and we never will!

  • I am elderly or have medical problems. Can i stay?

We generally ask all customers to step outside if they smell any fumes while we are spraying. This usually takes about 45 minutes and will last for 10 minutes after we leave.

  • Will my house smell like it was painted?

We use an industrial fume extraction system. We evacuate all airborne fumes out the nearest window. As long as we keep the bathroom door closed overnight, you should not notice a smell in the home after an hour. worst case, we open the entire home and air it out for five minutes. This generally eliminates any lingering smells.

  • When can I use the bathtub again?

24 Hours after Refinishing. The bathtub will be dry to the touch in several hours, however, it takes a full 24 hours before the coating cures and becomes waterproof.

  • What colors are available?

Let your imagination run wild! We can custom order any color from the Sherwin Williams Master Color Chip Catalog. Frim mild to wild! We have sprayed them almost all!

  • What is the warranty you offer?

You can visit our page detailing all of the information regarding our warranty and care instructions HERE

  • How Do I clean my new tub, tile or counter?

We only recommnd Dawn Dish Soap or Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner. For detailed instructions visit our Care & Warranty page HERE.

  • How long will my refinished tub last?

A professionally refinished bathtub should last in excess of fifteen years if the Care Instructions are followed.

  • Can you fix Rust Damage?

Yes and No! If the rust is just begining and can be completely eliminated with acid, then yes. We will make the rust go away and never to be seen again. If the rust has begun to flake the area or has made a hole around the overflow drain, then we can repair it cosmetically but it will come back at some point. Could be 1 year, 5 years or  3 months. Any rust repir damage is not covered under any tyoe of warranty.

  • I just remodeled. Are you going to make a mess?

Absolutley not. We generally leave our work areas cleaner than when we arrived. A clean environment  equals a better end result! We use 3M  professional painterss film and cover all counters, toilets, flooring and surrounding wall areas. We umnask everything upon completion.

  • Will the tub bottom be slippery?

Your newly refinished bathtub wlll be as smooth as a babys butt. If it isn't, we failed. Like anything smooth, it can be slippery. We offer all of our customers the option of an antislip additive to the tub bottom. Especially for rental units and homes with elderly people.

  • I am retiling/remodeling. When should I schedule my tub?

We always want to be the last contractor in the room. Since we are dealing with a fine finish, it is generally best if the tub is refinished after all other trades have completed their work. This eliminates the chance of anyone accidentally damaging your new surface.

  • Do you remove drains or install new handles?

In the state of Florida, only a licensed plumber can remove drains or install new valves and trim kits. Our insurance will not cover any damage caused by improper installation by a unlicensed professional. This is the same for any other refinisher in the state. Please protect yourself, your investment and your home. Don't ever let an unlicensed plumber do any work for you!

  • How do I pay?

Payment is due upon completion of the work. We will email you an invoice while the technician makes any final touchups and wraps up the job. You may pay for the work via credit card or check online. Once paid, the techniciain will go over your cleaning process and warranty information.
